March 21, 1742 - July 13, 1743
[This will was hard to read and there was a probate attached but I could only read a small portion of it. In Gordon Jones' book of Currituck County wills he has the probate date listed as July 13, 1743.]
In the Name of god Amen
I Isaac DAVIS of Corotuck County in the province of North Carolina & Being Very Sick in Body Butt in But in [sic] perfectt mind an memory Thanks be to god for the same I do heare make and Constertute this my Last will and Testament In manner and form as followeth that is to Say first and princetly I give and Rese___ my Sole unto the hands of a fathfull Creator that gave them? and my Body to Be Bureed desenly att the deseretion of my Executors heare after named and as for my worldly Estate that god Has Blest me with I give and bequeath as followeth
Item I give unto my Son Curnealus DAVIS all my Land and Dwelling plantasion after my wife desece or marrage. I Except? therd? parte to Be giving him att once [smudge] and ____ and if my Son Curneilus Shall Sell any part or Len out any part of the Land tell he comes to Be Thirty years of age then the Land so___ ____ote Shall fall to the next heare in Law.
Item I give to my Said Son Curnealus all my touls Except plantasion plantasion [sic] touls properly Caled.
Item I give to my Said Son al the hogs that is Called ____on and one nue Bason and dish won gun and I give unto my Said Son one Coult the first ____ my young Mare Being _____.
Item I give unto my well Beloved wife Rachel DAVIS my grate Black horse and Side Sadell and one mans sadell all plous and plantation Tules.
Item I give to my Said wife all my Said Hoges all Beas? and all maner of fouls belonging to my Said Estate.
[At the top of page two are the following words - Brote over from the botom]
The Rest [of] my Estate I do give Equeley to Be devided amunk the Rest of my Children and well beloved wife [there is a whole sentence inserted here above the word "wife" that was too small to read] whom I do apoint and constitute with her father Curnealus JONES to Be my wholey and sole Executors of this my Last will and Testament As witness my Hand and Seale this 21st day of March anno domme 1742.
