Currituck County Wills
In the name of God Amen, I Caleb ODOWD being weak and sick in body but of soand and perfect memory, and caling to mind the mortality of the body and knowind it is appointed once for all men to die doe constitute and ordain this my Last Will and Testament, in the manner and form following Viz.
First of all I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God who first gave it and my body to be decently buried in the earth at the descretion of my executors hereafter named
Secondly I desire all my just debts to be paid by my executors then I give and bequeth this part of land whear on I now dwell to my beloved Sund Dannel ODOWDY by a stright line begining at the sound side so to go through the middle of a low ground or swamp with a strieght line to Daniel BOCGUSAs res. corner tree with all the land to the westard of sd. line to him and his heirs forever,
Item: I give and bequeth to my beloved Sun Thomas ODOWDY all that part of my land cald the oald plantation to the eastward of my Sun Dannels line to Danl. BOCGUSCAs corner tree, thence a streight line across my land to William FERBEEses line to him and his heirs forever.
Item: I give and bequeth all my back land to my Sun Caleb ODOWDY to him and his heirs forever. and my desire is if either of my Suns should die that is to say Daniel ODOWDY or Thomas ODOWDY without heirs lawfully begotte of their bodies then the lands given them to go to my two Suns Samuel ODOWDY and Isaac ODOWDY to them and their heirs forever.
Item: I give and bequeth one feather bead and furniture to my beloved Daughter Sofier ODOWDY to her and her heirs forever.
Item: I give and bequeth to my beloved Daughter Elizabeth ODOWDY one feather bead and furniture to her and her heirs forever.
Now my will and desire is that I lend my beloved Wife Hannah ODOWDY all the land and property befoar given with all my other estate during her natural life or widow- hood to which I constitute and ordain my beloved Wife Hannah ODOWDY and my Brother in Law Isaac TILLET my hoal and soal executors to this my Last Will and Testament this 15th day of december 1792------- In witness hearof I have set my hand and fixt my seal----agreable to the above day and date
