November the 5th 1853Item lend to my wife Caroline DUNTON all of my estate both within Dores and out Dores and at her deth and then to A.B. DUNTON heirs Polly DUNTON, Dorcas DUNTON, David DUNTON, Sabina DUNTON, John DUNTON to them and their [heirs] for ever also i give to A.B. DUNTON my Double barrel gun and I am in my sound mind and perfect Cnese and that I acknowledge this to bee my last Will and testament.

At a Court held for Princess Anne County on September 3, 1855, the last will and testament of David DUNTON, deceased, was proved by the oaths of A.B. DUNTON and A. BAUM, the subscribing witnesses, and ordered to be recorded. The widow, Caroline DUNTON, having relinquished her right to administer, asks that John W. LEITCHFIELD qualify, whereupon he entered into a $4000 bond with John CANNON, James T. BROCK, Newton CAPPS, and James C. WHITEHURST as his securities.
