In the naim of God Amen. I Samuel DUTCHER of Currituck County and State of North Carolina, being week in health body and of sound mind memory and understanding praise be God for the same do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following
First. I give & devise and bequeath unto my son John A. DUTCHER his heirs and assigns forever all of my real estate that I owne in Currituck County on Powells Point providing he should take care of his mother as long as she shod live.
Secondly I give unto my son John A. DUTCHER all of my chattle property of all kinds what soever I leave behind and all so all of the vessel kind providing he should take care of his mother.
Third. I give unto my son George A. DUTCHER ten dollars in money at my death.
Forth. I give & devise unto my daughter Margretan LESTER my oald silver watch after my death.
Fift. And I do nominate, constitute and appoint my son John A. DUTCHER my sole executrix [sic] of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all and every other will or wills at eny time heretofore made by me and do declare this to be my last will and testiment. In witness whereof, I, the said Samuel DUTCHER have hereunto set my hand seal this the 21 day Oct 1886.

Currituck County } In re Estate of Samuel DUTCHER, deceasedA paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Samuel DUTCHER, decd., is exhibited in open Court for probate by John A. DUTCHER, executor therein named, and the due execution thereof by the said Samuel DUTCHER, decd., duly proven by the oath and examination of G.G. GALLOP and J.W. OWENS [signed the will as "A." W. Owens], subscribing witnesses thereto, and it is then shown to the satisfaction of the Court by said witnesses that the said Samuel DUTCHER was at the time of making said will of sound mind and memory, of full age to execute a will, and under no restraint to their knowledge, information or belief. It is thereupon considered, adjudged and decreed that said proof is sufficient and according to law and that said paper writing is and contains the last will & testament of Samuel DUTCHER, dec'd. And on motion it is ordered that said will be admitted to probate and recorded in the Book of Wills of Currituck County and as such filed as provided by law in the office of Clerk of the Superior Court of said county. It is further ordered that said John A. DUTCHER be allowed to qualify as executor as provided by law and enter into the discharge of the duties imposed by said trust. And the said John A. DUTCHER does qualify as such as the law directs.
Dated this the 13th day of Oct. 1888.
