Currituck Co. Will Book 3; pg. 240In the name of God Amen I Robert ETHERIDGE do make this my Last Will and Testament. I the said ETHERIDGE so wish to be buried in a christian manner and form. I wish all my just debts to be paid.
I bequath unto my Son John ETHERIDGE the land and plantation where I now live for the sd. John to take possession when becomes twenty one years of age. I wish the plantation to be rented out and the profits to go to my sour Daughters I had by my Wife Morgit ETHERIDGE. And I want my Wife Elizabeth ETHERIDGE to have the fifth part of the rent of the land, also I bequath unto my Wife Elizabeth ETHERIDGE the fifth part of my moveable property also I bequath unto my four Daughters that I had by my Wife Morgit ETHERIDGE. Also I bequath unto my Son Elias ETHERIDGE one piece of land I bought of John E. WILLIAMSON. Also I wish my Son John ETHERIDGE to have fire wood and rail timber and lightwood off sd. Elias land if needed. Also I bequath unto the children that I have by my Wife Elizabeth ETHERIDGE one negro man Joe and negro woman Menber to them and their heirs forever.
This being my Last Will and Testament I ordain my derly beloved Wife Elizabeth ETHERIDGE my exc’r. to my Last Will. This the 11th of April 1825. Given under my hand and seal.

This Last Will and Testament of Robert ETHERIDGE was exhibited and proved in open Court by the oaths Moses BUNNELL subscribing witness thereto and ordered recorded. Elizabeth ETHERIDGE came into open Court and relinquished her rights to qualify as executor thereto and at the same time signified her dessent from the Will of her said Husband Robert ETHERIDGE and on motion it was ordered that the same be entered and recorded. Letters of administration with the will annexed of Robert ETHERIDGE was granted to Samuel FERIBEE and on if Samuel who qualified and bound etc in form of law.S. HALL CCC
