Currituck County Wills
The last will and testament of Sally ETHERIDGE deceased was exhibited in open court of November Term 1842 and proved by the oath of James BELL and Fanny BELL subscribing evidences thus is the executive qualified in due form ordered recorded.
I Sarah ETHERIDGE of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina, being of sound and perfect mind and memory do this the 27th day of June 1842 make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say.
Item 1 I leave the use of all my negroes to my daughter Eleanor HUMPHERS during her natural life and after her death I give said negroes to my three grand daughters namely Elizabeth BRAY, Emily HUMPHERS and Chole HUMPHERS to be divided among them equally. I give and bequeath to my daughter Eleanor HUMPHERS all the residue of my estate except my negroes to her and her heirs forever. And I hereby appoint my daughter Eleanor HUMPHERS Executive to this my last will and testament . In witness whereof I have unto set my hand and seal.
