March Inferior Court of Pleas and Quarter Session 1773
Present His Majesties Justices
The Last Will and Testament of Thomas FENTON late of this County deceased was in open Court exhibited proved and the respective executors there qualified in due form of law the sd will was ordred to be recorded and stands as followeth viz.
In the name of God Amen.
Sept. 19th 1772
Thomas FENTON of the Province of N. Carolina and County of Currituck planter calling to mind the mortality of the body and knowing it is appointed for all men once to die and after death Judgement. I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it me and my body to the dust from whence it was taken to be disently buried at the discretion of my executors here after named and as to my worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with I dispose of in manner and form as following.
Item: I give and bequeath to my well beloved Wife the use of all my estate during her life after paying my just debts both within doors and without doors and after her decease my negroe man Isaac to my Son Caleb FENTON, and the plantation where I now liveth to my Son Thomas FENTON and all the remainder part of my estate to be equeally divided amongst my three Daughters Mary FENTON, Elizabeth FENTON, and Sarah FENTON.
Item: I constitute and appoint my well beloved Wife Sarah FENTON with William FEREBEE my sole exec: of this my Last Will and Testament by which I revoke and disanull all other will or wills testaments by me heretofore made utterly. Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
