The last Will and Testament of Sally GIBBENS deceased was exhibited in open court at Feby. Term 1840. and proven by the oath of Joshua HARRISON one of the subscribing evedences there to and the Executor Isaac TILLETT quallified in due form of Law and ordered Recorded.
State of N. Carolina}
Currituck County }In the name of God Amen, I Sally GIBBENS being sick in body but of sound disposing mind and memory calling to mind it is once appointed for all to die do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form as follows to wit.
Item I recommend my soal into the hands of God who gave it and my worldly goods to my children as follows.
Item 1 Give to my son James my Bed and Good necessary furniture to Him for ever.
Item 2 I Give to my daughter Lucinda one dollar as a full share of my estate to her and her heirs for ever.
Item 3 I Give to my son Caleb GIBBENS one dollar to him as his heirs for ever.
Item 4th I Give to my daughter Harriet one dollar in full as her share of my estate to her and her heirs for ever.
Item 5 it is my wish that my horse cattle & hogs be sold by my executor for six months credit and the proceeds to be equally divided betwen my son James, William and my Daughter Susan GIBBINS and if either of them should die not using their part that it goes to the one or aires living.
Item 6 I wish and desire that all I possess in doors and out of doors be divided equally betwen my three children namely James, William and Susan GIBBENS and if either one dies their part goes to the surviving child or children-now should my executor and children think proper when my stock is sold to sell or a part of property let it be done or divided as they think best, and when it sold I desire my exer. as soon as he can to settle the estate and pay over unto James one third part, and William one third part & Susan one third part and be clear of the same. I wish my just debts paid and lastly I nominate and appoint my friend Isaac TILLETT Esqr. My executor to this my Last Will and Testament revoking others. In witness I here unto set my hand and seal October the 3rd 1839.
