Currituck County Wills
In the Name of God Amen. I Director HALL of the State of North [Carolina] Currituck County being sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given to God calling to mind the Mortallity of my Body and knowing that is appointed for all once to die. do make and ordain this my last will and Testament, Viz. Principally and first of all I recommend my Soul unto the hands of almighty God that Gave it and my body I commend to the Earth to be Buried in decent Christain Burial at the discression of my Exer. herafter to be named, and as touching such Worldly property wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I give devise and Dispose of the same in the folling manner & form
1st Item. I devise all my Just debts should be paid by my Exer.
2d Item. I Give and Bequeath to my Grand Daughter Director CHAPLIN all that part of Spence HALL Decd. Estate that I bought of Thomas GREGORY to her and her heirs for Ever.
3d Item. I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Director GREGORY all my Wearing apparel to her and her heirs forever. My Will is that the part left or given to Director CHAPLIN should be in the hands of Spence HALL untill Director CHAPLIN comes of age or marrieth without Int.
4th Item. I Give and Bequeath my Crop of Corn, Cattle and all the rest of my property not given away to my two sons Nathan HALL and Spence HALL to be Equally divided between them and their heirs for ever.
5th Item. I do Nominate and appoint Spence HALL my son whole and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and do hereby utterly disannul all other Wills Legacies and Bequests by me in any ways before mentioned ratifying and confirming this to be my last will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 29th day of January 1796.
