Currituck County Wills
I N. N. HAMPTON, SR. of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina, being of sound mind and memory, do make, declare and publish, this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills heretofore made by me.
I give to my daughter Fannie WALKER the sum of One Thousand Dollars out of my estate, to be paid to her by my executor as soon after my death as shall by him be found convenient The remainder of my estate, after my just debts are, by my executor, paid, both real and personal, I give to be equally divided among all of my grand children.
I do nominate and appoint my grand son N. N. HAMPTON, JR. to be the executor of this my last will and testament.
Witness my hand and seal this the 13th day of May 1918.

Currituck County} In the Superior Court---Before the ClerkIn the matter of the will of N.N. HAMPTON, is deceased.
The paper-writing hereto attached and purporting to be the last will and testament of N.N. HAMPTON, SR. deceased is exhibited before the undersigned Clerk of the Superior Court of Currituck County, North Carolina by N.N. HAMPTON, JR., the executor therein named, and thereupon the following proof thereof is taken by the oath and examination of W.M. WALKER and W.G. WALKER, the subscribing witnesses thereto, as follows;

W.M. WALKER and W.G. WALKER being duly sworn, depose and say, and each for himself deposes and says, that he is a subscribing witness to the said paper-writing now shown him, purporting to be the last will and testament of N.N. HAMPTON, SR. deceased, and that he saw him execute this writing as his last will and testament, and that affiant attested it in the presence and at the request of said N.N. HAMPTON, SR. deceased; and that at the time of its execution said N.N. HAMPTON, SR. was, in affiants opinion of sound mind and desposing memory.

And hereupon it is considered and adjudged by the Court that the said paper-writing and every part thereof is the last will and testament of N.N. HAMPTON, SR. deceased, and it is ordered that the same with the foregoing examination and this certificate, be recorded and filed.

APPLICATION FOR LETTERS TESTAMENTARY

In the Superior Court} Before B.B. BELL, Clerk Superior CourtN.N. HAMPTON, JR. being duly sworn, doth say: That N.N. HAMPTON, SR., late of said County, is dead, having first made and published his last Will and Testament: and that N.N. HAMPTON, Jr. is the executor named therein.
Further, that the property of the said N.N. HAMPTON, SR. consisting of personal property in and out of State is worth about $12000 or $13000, so far as can be ascertained at the date of this application: and that Fanny WALKER his daughter, Clarence WALKER, Wm. WALKER, Carl WALKER, Bill JONES, Fannie ONEAL, Loyd HAMPTON, Daisey DOXEY Poplar Branch, N.C., Paul HAMPTON, Minnie HAMPTON, N.N. HAMPTON JR., his grand children the Post Office of Loyd HAMPTON & Fannie ONEAL is Aydlett N.C., Bill JONES P.O. Waterlillie N.C., P.O. of the others is Coinjock N.C. except the one at Poplar Branch, N.C. are the parties entitiled under said will to the said property.

I, N.N. HAMPTON JR. do solemnly swear that I believe this paper writing to be and contain the last will and Testament of N.N. HAMPTON SR. that I will well and truly execute the same by first paying his debts and then his legacies, so far as the said estate shall extend, or the law will charge me, and all other duties pertaining to the office of Executor I will discharge according to law, to the best of my skill and ability. So help me God.
