Currituck County Wills
In the name of God Amen, I John HOLMES of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina, being weak of bodily strength but of a sound mind and memory calling to mind that it is appointed of God for all men once to die, do make ordain and appoint this my Last Will and Testament.
First I recommend my Soul to Almighty God, that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth, to be buried in a Christian like burial and as touching my worldly affairs I give and bequeath in manner and form following Viz.
Item: I give and bequeath unto my beloved Brother Isaac HOLMES the whole of my property boath real and personal after paying my just debts and funeral expences.
Item: I do constitute my beloved Uncle John WILLIAMS my whole and sole executor of this my Last Will and testament, in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 25th day of March 1805.
