Currituck County Wills
In the name of God, Amen.
I Solomon JARVIS of Currituck County being of sound and perfect mind and memory, blessed be God, do this second day of September, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and fourteen, make and publish this my Last Will and Testament, in manner following that is to say.
First, I give and bequeath to my Son Lovett JARVIS, one feather bed and furniture and sundry other articles already in his possession, to him and his heirs forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my Son Ephraim JARVIS one pewter bason and sundry other articles already in his possession.
Item. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Isbel BURTON one feather bed and furniture and one chest of sundry other articles already in her possession to her and her heirs forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my Son Samuel JARVIS, two dollars to be raised out of my estate, to him and his heirs forever.
Item. My will is that my two last Sons John JARVIS and William JARVIS shall have all my land, if they live to be twenty one years of age, and if either of them dies before he is twenty one years of age, my will is that the other should have all the land, and if they both die before they are twenty one years of age, I then give the said land to my Son Lovett JARVIS and his heirs forever.
Item. I lend the use of my plantation and stock and all my estate after paying my debts to my Wife Frankey JARVIS, during her widowhood, and at her intermarriage or death my will is that all my estate except my land shall be equally divided between my two Daughters Zelphia JARVIS and Oliff JARVIS, to them and their heirs forever. My will is that my executors should sell eight acres of my land next to Samuel WHITEHURST to said S. WHITEHURST at a price stated.
And I hereby ordain and appoint my Son Lovett JARVIS and M. SIMMONS SEN. my executors to this my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I the said Solomon JARVIS have to this my Last Will and Testament, set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
