The Last will and Testament of Simon JINKINS Decd. was Exhibited at August term 1837 and Proven by the oath of James BELL Esqr. Jurat and ordered recorded.
In the name of God Amen I Simon JINKINS of Currituck County in the state of North carolina being of Sound and perfect mind and memory do this 4th day of September In the year of 1836 Make and Publish this May Last will and testament in manner following that is to say…
First I give and bequeath to my Son Reubin JINKINS all my land and plantation where I now live on To him and his heirs provided that my wife Julia JINKINS Shall have set apart to her the house and one third part of said Land as her right of dower in said Land then I also give my New hand mill to Reubin to him And his heirs forever.
I give and bequeath to my Daughter Nancy JINKINS one bed and Its furniture the first choice to her and her heirs Forever.
I give to my Daughter Sally JINKINS one bed and its Furniture the second choice.
I give to My Son Reubin my Chest with all my Carpenters Tools and three guns to him and his heirs.
Reuben also my Boate and all her materials and sins twine nets and to him so ever.
Also to Nancy JENKINS a nother Bead furniture for her and there be Two beds I give and to her for ever aman.
I Leave all the remainder Sort of my Estate that has not that has not [sic] been given away a bove in my will after paying my debts to my wife Julia JENKINS to do with and use in any way She may think Proper and I hereby make and ordain my wife and my Son Reubin JENKINS executors of this my Last Will and Testament in witness wherof I the said Simon JENKINS have to this my Last Will and Testament set my hand and seal the day and date above written.
