Currituck County Wills
In the name of God Amen, I William LEE of Currituck County and in the State of N. Carolina, being weak in body but of perfect sound sense and memory Thanks be to God for the same, and therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, I do make and appoint, this to be my Last Will and Testament, I give and bequeath my soul to the God that give it and as for my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a christian manner at the discretion of my executors, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God that gave it me, and touching of such worldly estate as it has been pleased the Lord to bless me with in this life------ I am minded to give it as followeth,
I give and bequeath it to my well loved Wife to raise my children upon to use it in discretion or as long as she is able to keep them and induring of her life or widowhood to my Wife Mary LEE the Daughter of Sam. CREEKMORE to her keep use and possess all my personable estate within doors and without leaving after in the case my friend Willoughby DAUGE to be my whole and sole executor with my Wife Mary LEE, of this my Last Will and Testament and I do disannull all other will or wills by me made, and I do own this to be my Last Will and Testament this 10th day of October 1779 in presence of us.
