The Last Will and Testament of Edward LITCHFIELD here follows In Hoc Verba.
In the name of God Amen, I Edward LITCHFIELD being of perfect senses and memory thanks be to Almighty God for it do nominate this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following, First of all I recommend my soul to Almighty God that gave it me calling to mind that it is appointed for all men once to die First of all my Will and Desire that all my debts be paid and my body to be buried in a Christian like manner.
Item: I give and bequeath unto Mary LITCHFIELD my beloved Wife the one half of my land with all the chattel hogs and sheep and household goods during the time of her widowhood.
Item: I give and bequeath the other half of my land to my Son Abraham.
Item: My desire is that my Son Jacob shall enjoy the other half of my lands at his Mothers death.
Item: I give and bequeath all my chattel hogs, sheep and horses, household goods to be equally divided amongst my six children at the time their Mother marrieth and I do nominate this my Last Will and Testament this twelfth day of September In the year of our Lord God One thousand seven hundred and sixty eight.
