Currituck County Wills
In the name of God Amen, I Matthew MATHIAS of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina, calling to mind the none certainty of this life and it being or ordained once for all men to die do make and ordain this instrument of writing to be and contain my Last Will and Testament, disanulling and revoking all other wills to fore by me made either by word or writing and this only to be taken,
First that is to say, I recommend my soul to Allmighty God that gave it and my body to be desently beried in a place where it should pleas my executor herafter named and as to what estate it hath been pleased God to bestow on me I give and dispose in manner and form followeth.
Item I give and bequeath unto my Son Robert one shilling sterling money and what I have all ready give him and his heirs forever for his part of my estate.
Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Frances WEBLIN on shilling sterling money and what I have all ready give her to her and her heirs for ever, for her part of my estate.
Item I give and bequeath unto my Son Hillery one shilling sterling money and what I have all ready given him to him and his heirs forever, for his part of my estate.
Item I give and bequeath unto my Son Joshua one shilling sterling money and what I have allready given him to him and his heirs forever, for his part of my estate.
Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Bridget BELL one shilling sterling money and what I have allready given her to her and her heirs for ever, for her part of my estate.
Further my will and desire is that my loving Wife Elizabeth should the use of all my estate during her life and after my afsd Wife Elizabeth death I give all my estate whatsoever to be found of my property after my lawfull debts is paid to my Son Simon to him and his heirs for ever.
I also constitute and appoint my sd Son Simon and my friend William ETHERIDGE my holy and sole executors of this my Last Will and Testament to see all my estate settled according to this my Last Will and the law should require, as witness my hand and seal the 2th (sic) day of August Anno dom 1785.
