The Last Will and Testament of James MELSON deceased was exhibited in open court at May Term 1849 and the execution of the same proved by the oath of Morea CHADDIC one of the subscribing evedences thereto in due form ordered recorded.
In the name of God Amen--
I James MELSON of the State of North Carolina and Currituck County being weak and feble in body but of sound disposing mind and memory and calling to mind uncertainity of life and the certainty of death do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form as follows:
First I commend my soal unto into [sic] the hands of God who gave it my body to be decently buried and as touching the worldly substance which it hath pleased God to bless me with I dispose of and lend as follows to wit:
Item after paying all my just debts I lend unto my beloved Wife Sindyrelly MELSON all of the property that I possess both in doors and out of all kinds and nature as beds and furniture mare and colt, cat, cattle and hogs bofat during her natural life or widowhood as witness my hand and seal this 28 day of May 1847.
