Currituck County Wills
In the tweleth day of Jinuay in the year of our Lord 1794 I Bethany MIDYETT of North Carolina in the County of Currituck being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory Thanks be given to God for it therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is apointed for all mankind one to die, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament, that is to say, princepaly and first of all I give and recomend my soul into the hand of God that give it and for my body I recomend it the earth to be buried in a christain like and decent manner at the diserction of my executors.
Item I give and bequeath to my Son Bannistor MIDYETT one negro man named Charles to him and his hairs lawfully begotten forever.
Item I give and bequeeve to my two Sons Daniel MIDYETT and Bannister MIDYETT one negro man named Maricay to them and their hairs lawfully begotten forever.
Item I give and bequeve to my negro woman her liberty forever to live whear and with home she will of my chridlan as she shall what they have need.
Item I give and bequeve to my four Daughters Judy, Bethany, Zilpah and Mary the rest of my estate to be equaly devided among them it being one feather bead, and furniture and one cow and yearling and some sheep, one linning wheel, one chest, four plates.
I do hereby apoint my two Sons Daniel MIDYETT and Bannistor MIDYETT to be my whole and lawful executors and I do hereby acknowledge this to be my Last Will and Testament and do make void and disanull all other whomesoever shall appear as witness my hand and seal.
