The Last Will and Testament of Polly NORTHERN was Exhibited in open Court at Nover. Term 1838 & proved by the oath of Wilson CORPREW in due form of Law and ordered Recorded.
In the name of God amen I Polly NORTHERN of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina do make this my last will and Testament here after as follows.
1 I Give and bequeath unto my son Phillip one Hundred dollars to be paid to him in cash also four sheets four Blankets one wide fring counterpin two Bed quilts Bolster two Pillows to him and his heirs for ever.
2 I Give and bequeath unto Charity Jane my daughter one Hundred dollars to be paid to her in cash also four sheets four Blankets one counterpin two Bed quilts Bolster and two pillows to her and Heirs for ever.
3 I leave to be deposited in the hands of Wilson CORPREW one Hundred Dollars which is to be intended for James D. NORTHERN my Grand Son to be paid by the said Wilson CORPREW to him when he shall arive to the age of Twenty one years, and shold he die before that time I then leave the Hundred dollars to be equally divided between my three children William, Phillip, and Charity Jane NORTHERN and there Heirs for ever.
4 I Give and bequeath unto my Son William NORTHERN one Bed three sheets three Blankets one counterpin to him and his heirs for ever.
5 after all my Just debts are paid the remainder of my Estate I leave to be Equally distributed between my three children viz. William, Phillip & Charity Jane NORTHERN and lastly I nominate and appoint my son William NORTHERN my Executor to this my last will and testament hereby Revoking all other former wills made by me this the 10 day of November 1838.
