In the name of God Amen, I William O. DOWDIE of the County of Currituck, being in a weak state of health but of perfect mind and memory Thanks be given unto God. Calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die make this my Last Will and Testament, that is to say, principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be burried in a decent manner nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner.

Item I give and bequeath unto Sarah BUNNILL one cow and calf. Also I give and bequeath unto Dorcas O. DOWDIE Daughter of William O. DOWDIE one cow and calf. also I give and bequeath one cow and calf unto my Son James O. DOWDIE, and I also wish the horse to be sold.

Item I give and bequeath unto my Son John O. DOWDIE and Thomas O. DOWDIE a certain messuage of land where they now live on the Narrow Shore to be equly divided between them boath be the same more or less to them and their heirs forever.

Item I also give and bequeath unto my Son William O. DOWDIE a certain tract or messuage of land lying on North River swamp be the same more or less where he now lives to be be divided between him and his Daughter Dorcas to them and their heirs forever.

Also I give and bequeath the mannor plantation to be equally divided between my Son Caleb O. DOWDIE and James O. DOWDIE to them and their heirs forever their lands messuages and tennements by them to be possess and enjoyed and I do hereby utterly disallow revoake and dessannull all and every other former testament wills, legacies, bequeaths and extr. by me in any wise befor named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 1st of December 1803.
