Sevility Parker
Feb. 18, 1881 - Oct. 4, 1886

In the name of God, Amen.  I Sevility PARKER of the County of Currituck, State of North Carolina, being of sound disposing mind and memory, do make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit:

Item:  I give and bequeath unto my beloved children Mahala BALLANCE, A.J. BALLANCE, Caleb BALLANCE, Sevility BRUMSEY and the heirs of Utility HUGHS all of my property of every description both real and personal Share and share alike that is to say to Mahala BALLANCE one share A.J. BALLANCE one share Caleb BALLANCE one share Sevility BRUMSEY one share and the heirs of Utility HUGHS to wit. Elizabeth HUGHS Sarah HUGHS and Isaac HUGHS one share to them and their heirs forever.

Item:  The notes I hold against Isaac BOSWOOD the husband of my daughter Sally, are to be returned to said Isaac BOSWOOD, as the portion of my daughter Sally.

Item:  I nominate constitute and appoint my son A.J. BALLANCE Executor to this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 18th of Feby 1881.

Signed and sealed and declared by the Testatrix as her last will and testament, and we at her request and in her presence and the presence of each other have signed our names as witness thereto

PROBATE OF A WILL

  North Carolina  }    In the Superior Court before H.B. ANSELL, Clerk
Currituck County}    In Re Estate of Sevility PARKER, deceased
    A paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Sevility PARKER, dec'd., is exhibited in open court for probate by Caleb BALLANCE, A.J. BALLANCE, executor therein named being dead; and the due execution thereof by the said Sevility PARKER, dec'd. is duly proven by the oath and examination of G.W. WILLIAMS and A.O. DEY subscribing witnesses thereto and it is further shown to the satisfaction of the court by said witnesses that the said Sevility PARKER was, at the time of making said will of sound mind and memory, of full age to execute a will and under no restraint to their knowledge, information or belief.
     It is thereupon considered, adjudged and decreed, that said proof is sufficient and according to law and that said paper writing is and contains the last will and testament of Sevility PARKER, dec'd.  And on motion it is ordered that said will be admitted to probate and recorded in the Book of Wills of Currituck County and as such filed as proved by law in the office of the Clerk of Superior Count of said County.
    It is further adjudged that said Caleb BALLANCE be allowed to qualify as administrator by entering into bond as provided by law and enter upon the discharge of the duties imposed by said trust.  Dated this the 4th day of October 1886.
