    Currituck County

This Six day of May one thousand eight hundred and sixty.

   In the name of God Amen, I George PERKINS, planter, being in good health and of sound disposing mind and memory thanks be to God for the same in the first place I recommend my soul in the hands of Almighty God that gave it and body to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial.

   Item 1st I leave all my just debts to be paid and my funeral expences.

   Item 2nd I loan the use and benefit of all my land and plantation upon I now live to my son John PERKINS during his natural life and I loan the use and benefit of one negro boy by the name of Junius to my son John PERKINS during his natural life and after the death of my son John PERKINS I give and bequeath all my land and plantation and boy Junius to be equally divided between all the lawful heirs of my son John PERKINS to them and their heirs forever.

   Item 3rd I loan the use of and benefit to my daughter Marenia WEST during her natural life one negro woman by the name of Venus and one negro woman by the name of Vilet and one negro boy by the name of Bill and one boy child by the name of Charles and after the death of my daughter Marenia WEST I give and bequeath unto all the lawful heirs of Marenia WEST one negro woman by the name of Venus, one negro woman by the name Vilet and one negro boy by the name of Bill and one boy child by name of Charles to be equally divided to between to them and their heirs forever.

   Item 4th I give and bequeath unto my Grand Son Joseph WEST son of Dennis WEST one negro boy by the name of Ellis to him and his heirs forever.

   Item 5th I give and bequeath unto my daughter Marenia WEST all my property not willed away viz. my notes, money and all within doors and without to her and her heirs forever.

   I nominate constitute and appoint Davis B. MORSE and my son John PERKINS executors to this my last will and testament.  I publish this instrument of writing to be my last will and testament and revoking all former wills whatsoever, sealed with my seal the day and date above written.
