The Last Will and Testament of William REID deceased was exhibited in open court of February term 1842 and the execution of the same proved by the oaths of John C. SIMMONS and David IVES subscribing evidences there to in due form and the executor Malachi W. REID quallifyed in due form of Law ordered Registered.
In the name of God Amen, I William W. REID being in good helth sound mind and memory as usual thanks to my God for the same think proper to make and ordain this to be my last will and testament as follows.
Item 1st I give and bequeath to my Wife Jacamina REID my tom horse barauch and harness to her and her heirs for ever.
Item 2d I give and bequeath to my Son Malachi the land I purchased of Francis BROWN also the land I purchased of Nathaniel SOREY and one third of my cypress swamp also the following negroes, Tod, Daniel, Sarah, America and Jno. BASCUM, also my John horse single buggy and harness to him and his heirs for ever.
Item 3 I give and bequeath unto my Son John the farm I purchased of William R. WICKINGS and the land known by the name of Samson and the land I purchased of Thomas BUTT and one third part of my cypress swamp also the following negroes, Africa, Jacob, Lydia, Eadon, and Simon and my sorrel filly to him and his heirs for ever.
Item 4 I give and bequeath unto my Son Joseph the plantation I now live on and all the land adjoining & which has not been willed away also the following negroes Asanah, Daniel, Billy, Lamett, Francis and Ginny to him and his heirs for ever.
Item 5 I lend to my Sister Sarah REID my negro boy Willis as long as she lives and at her death to go to my Son Joseph and his heirs for ever.
Item 6 I will that the residue of my property after paying my just debts be equally divided amongs my lawful heirs.
Item 7 I nominate and appoint my Son Malachi REID my whole and sol Executor to this my last will and Testament. Given under my hand and seal this 5th day March 1841.
