Currituck CountyIn the name of God Amen. I John SANDERSON of the County and State aforesaid, being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory, blessed be God almighty for the same, do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say.
First I give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Cloah SANDERSON a part or pacel of my land whereon I live beginning at the river at the dividing lane between me and my Brother Daniel, then up said lane to my little ditch, thence along said ditch to the branch from thence down to the river including the cleared land, to have and hold during her natural life—also negro man Thomas negro woman Ruthy and negro girl Ginn to her her heirs forever----also one riding chair and harness and one horse, one best bed and furniture, one best table all the beaufat furniture.
I also give and bequeath unto my Son Daniel Lundsey SANDERSON the whole of the tract of land I now live on, also negro man Dempsey, negro girl Mary.
I also give and bequeath unto my Daughter Darkis SANDERSON negro girl Betsey negro boy Thomas, negro boy Mills and negro boy Andrew—furthermore I give and bequeath to my Daughter Darkis SANDERSON the amount which my property not given away may sell for when sold.
I do appoint my Uncle Daniel LINDSEY SEN. my sole executor of this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made. In witness where of set my hand and seal the second day of June in the year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and Nineteen.

It is allso my will and desir that my tw old negrows Jones and Pegey shold stay on the said plantation whar thea now live if thought proper by my exor to and the profits of said negrows to go to my Daughter Darks SANDERSON and if my exetor shod think best not to contenue on sad land I dow enpower him to act as he ma think best for my aforsad Daughter.

The Last Will and Testament of John SANDERSON decd. was exhibited in open court and proved by the oath of Jacob AYDELOTT and D. LINDSEY as to the handwriting of D. SANDERSON subscribing witness thereto and ordered to be recorded. When the executor therin named came into open court and qualified in due form of law and ordered that letters testamentary issue.
