Currituck County Wills
In the name of God Amen, the 5th day of January 1785 I Tulle SAWYER being in good health and of perfect mind and memory Thanks be to God for it therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to dye and I do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give and dispose of the same in the following manner and form---
Item: I give to my Son William SAWYER the plantation and land and all other protets thereon the said land laying in Camden on ye road.
Item: I give to my Son John SAWYER the plantation and land all other protets thereon the land lying on the north side of Seven Rhods Mill Pon in Camden, also one feather bead and one desk, one cow, and likewise I give Willis SAWYER and John SAWYER my sailing boat.
Item: I give to my Son Willis SAWYER the plantation and land I had of John WINBERY in Camden and one feather bead one cow.
Item: I give to Cloey WINBERY the plantation and land on the banks joining Asa NORTENs line from sound to creek so to aline begining at alarge mulbery tree on the sound side then running ye sd line to ye creek, also I give Cloey one cow, one feather bead.
Item: I give to Samuel HAST son of NanceyHAST all the rest of my bank land on Martins Pinte and over the creek and on ye see side, also I give him ye sd Samuel HAST one horse, one cart, one plow, one feather bead, one gun, one cow, three sheep, one cunue and half my hogs
Item: I give my Wife Sarah SAWYER the part of my estate that she has in her hands also I leave one plantation I had of John BURNHAM and Jobe CARTWRIGHT to be sold and the money equel divided between William SAWYER, John SAWYER, Willis SAWYER and Cloey WINBERRY and Samuel HAST and all the rest of my estate in doors or out I leave to be equally divided between William SAWYER, John SAWYER, Willis SAWYER, Cloey WINBERY, and Samuel HAST and if either of these five children shall dye without issue that the living shall equally divide this estate, and I likewise make my three Sons William SAWYER, Willis SAWYER, John SAWYER my holy and solley executors of my Last Will and Testament of all and singular the lands and movables of my estate as witness my hand and seal the day and year above written signed sealed and delivered by me.
