The Last Will and Testament of Abigal SCEARES was exhibited in open court at May term 1846 and the execution of the same proved by the oath of Wilson CORPREW one of the subscribing witnesses there to executor qualified ordered registered.

   I Abigal SCEARS of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina do make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form as follows to wit.

   Item 1^st I give and bequeath unto my Son John D. COX negro boy Jack and girl Rachael to him and his heirs forever.

   Item 2^nd I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Sabrina WILSON negro girl Chloe and negro boy Randolph to her and her heirs forever.

   Item 3^rd I give and bequeath unto Anthia W. WILSON the Daughter of William S. WILSON negro girl Marinda to her and her heirs forever.

   Item 4^th I loan to my Grand Son Edgar DAILEY negro man Harry and should he have an issue or issues then and in that case I give and bequeath the above named negro Harry to him and his heirs forever but should the said Edgar DAILEY die without such issue or issues then it is my will that Frederick DAILEY inherit the said negro man Harry and to his heirs and his assigns forever.

   Item 5^th I loan to my grandson Frederick DAILEY negro man Jordan and in case he should have an issue or issues then and in such case I give and bequeath the above named negro to him and his heirs forever but in case of death of said Frederick DAILEY and leaving no issue or issues then and in that case the said Edgar DAILEY is to inherit the above named negro Jordan and to the heirs of the said Edgar DAILEY forever.

   Item 6^th I give and bequeath unto my Grand Daughter Eudissa BARNARD Five dollars to her and her heirs forever.

   Item 7^th I give and bequeath unto my Grand Son Edgar DAILEY one bed and furniture to him and his heirs forever.

   Item 8^th And after all my just debts are paid the balance of my estate not bequeathed I leave to be equally divided between my Son John D. COX and my Daughter Sabrina WILSON to them and their heirs forever.

   And lastly I nominate and appoint my Son J. D. COX my whole and sole executor to this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all other former wills or will heretofore made by me as witness my hand
