Currituck County Wills
In the name of God Amen, I Walter SIKES of Currituck County and State of N. Carolina being very sick yet of sound mind and disposing memory, Thanks be to God for the same, do make and constitute this my Last Will and Testament in form and manner following---
Item: I lend unto my dearly beloved Wife Mary SIKES during her widowhood all my movables estate to assist her in maintaining my children and in like manner I do lend her the use of all my lands but and if she should marry then for all the movable estate to be divided between her and all my children agreable to law and for her to have prise only a dowery(?) in the land.
Item: I give and bequeath unto my Son Benjamin SIKES all my lands unto him and his heirs forever.
Item: I do constitute ratify and confirm this to be my Last Will and Testament and I do nominate my dear Wife Mary SIKES and my Brother Benjamin SIKES to be executors of this my Last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 23 day of Feby 1790.
