In the name of God Amen. I Joseph SIMMONS being weak in body, but of sound and perfect mind and memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life and that it is appointed for man to die, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say
Item. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Sally SIMMONS one negro girl named Die to her and her heirs forever also one negro girl by the name of Molley to her and her heirs forever also one feather bed and furniture to her and hers heirs.
Item. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Julia SIMMONS one negro girl by the name of Linner to her and her heirs forever.
Item. Lend all the use of my property within doors and without to my beloved Wife Ann SIMMONS during her natral life or widowhood and if she considers thar is more property than she needs she can sell it on her acct.
Item. I give and bequeath to my four Sons John SIMMONS, Edmond SIMMONS, Samuel SIMMONS and Patrick SIMMONS all my land to be equely divided to them and their heirs forever.
Item. I leve all the property that I loan to my beloved Wife Ann SIMMONS after death or marage to be equaly divided among all my children except Asohell SIMMONS and Benjamin SIMMONS as I have given them ther portion before by deed and don’t intend them to have any more of my property.
Last my will and desire is that my beloved Wife AnneSIMMONS should be and she is hereby appointed and ordained the whole and sole executor to this my Last Will and Testament in witness I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 30th day of June in the year of our Lord 1824.
