Currituck County }In the name of God Amen. I Sally SIMMONS of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina being vary weke and feeble in health and knowing that it is appointed for us all to die do this the Sixth day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty five make and publish this my last will and testament ratifying this and no other to be my last will and testament.
Item the first I Give and bequeath unto my Brother Benjamin T. SIMMONS the following Negroes viz. old man Is. Woman Molly and boy Samson to him and his heirs for ever.
Item I Give unto my niece Julia Ann SIMMONS (daughter of Benjamin T. SIMMONS) the following negroes viz. Girl Silva and boy Daniel to her and her heirs for ever.
Item I Give and bequeath unto my nephew Henry Shaw SIMMONS (Son of John SIMMONS) negro boy Charles, to him and his heirs for ever.
Item I Give and bequeath unto my brother Edmund SIMMONS negro man Moses, to him and his heirs for ever.
Item I Give to my nieces Lydia Ann SIMMONS and Sarah Jane SIMMONS negro boy Bob and Girl Hester, to them & their heirs.
Item [I] Give unto my brother Samuel SIMMONS negro man Shipard to him and his heirs for ever.
Item I leave all the remainder of my estate both real and personal to be sold on such terms as my Executor hereafter named may think proper to pay all my Just debts lastly I here by nominate and appoint my Brother Benjamin T. SIMMONS my Executor to this my last will & Testament. Witness my hand & seal.

At November Sessions 1855 of the County Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, to be held in and for the County of Currituck. I shall offer for probate a paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Sally SIMMONS deceased in which I am appointed Executor: at which time & place you are invited to attend and see proceedings, and make yourself a party, & make up an issue if you deem it proper to do so. Nov. 5, 1855
