   In the name of God Amen, Isaac SNOWDEN of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina being in perfect health and of sound disposing mind and memory blessed be God do this the Twelth Day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty make and publish this to be my last will and testament in the following manner viz:

   Item 1 I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Elizabeth SNOWDEN one negro man named Silas and one negro woman named Clark?/Clara? also one bed and furniture and cow and calf to her and her heirs forever.  Also I lend unto my beloved wife Elizabeth during her life or widowhood one negro girl named Jane and negro boy named John.

   Item I give and bequeathed unto my Son William SNOWDEN the land and plantation whereon I now live containing Sixty acres more or less, also one negro boy named Miles also negro boy named Peter and negro girl named Clarey, one bed and furniture one cow and calf one young gray horse bridle and saddle and one gun to him and his heirs forever.

   Item 3 I lend unto my daughter Nancy WEST wife of Willoughby WEST one negro girl named Lemon boy Frank, girl Molly & girl Emily during her life and at her death to be equally divided between all of her children then living as well those unborn as those already born share and share alike.

   Item 4 I lend unto my daughter Lovey BRIGHT wife of Washington BRIGHT the following negroes namely boy Sam, girl Ferebee and child Violet during her life and at her death to be equally divided between all of her children then living as well those unborn as those already born share and share alike to them and their heirs forever.

   Item 5 At the death or marriage of my wife Elizabeth I give the boy named John which I have loaned to my wife to the children of my daughter Nancy WEST to be equally divided between them then living share and share alike to them and their heirs forever

   Item 6 At the death or marriage of my wife Elizabeth I give the girl named Jane loaned to my wife Elizabeth to the children of my daughter Lovey BRIGHT to be equally divided between them then living share and share alike to them and their heirs forever.

   All the remainder of my property within doors and without not given away I leave to be equally divided between my wife Elizabeth my Son William, the children of Nancy WEST and the children of Lovey BRIGHT that is to say in four equal parts one fourth to my beloved wife one fourth to my Son William one fourth to the children of Nancy WEST, one fourth to the children of Lovey BRIGHT and I hereby appoint my Son William SNOWDEN guardian to the children of Nancy WEST and Lovey BRIGHT.  In testimony whereof I do hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date above written.

    This paper writing having been proved as the last will and testament of Isaac SNOWDEN by the oath of Sol. ASHBEE ordered to be admitted to probate as the last will and testament of said SNOWDEN passing real and personal estate ordered to be recorded.
