Michal Waterfield
June 19, 1855 - Feb. Term 1856
In the name of god amen. I Michal WATERFIELD of the State of North Carolina County of Currituck being sick doth make & Publish this my last will and testement as follows --
Item I give to my son Samuel WATERFIELD a piece of Land laying west of the main road beginning at the main Road at a post adjoining the land of David BRUMLY and Southard WATERFIELD and running westardly by said lines to a gum tree north by marked trees binding on said Southard WATERFIELD line, thence East down said line to the main road thence south binding said Road to a post thence west oppisit of the gum tree to him & heres forever.
Item I give to Mary WATERFIELD my daughter a piece of Land west of the main Road binding the land I have given my son Samuel WATERFIELD on the north & to run no further west than Samuel WATERFIELD Land the said land is bounded on the south by the land of Sally Ann SPRATT, land to her & heres forever.
Item I give to my son Johnson WATERFIELD a piece of woodland bounded on the west by Sally Ann SPRATT on the north by the land of Southard WATERFIELD on the East by the lands I have Given to my son Samuel WATERFIELD & daughter Mary WATERFIELD and on the south by the land belonging to my wife Lydia. I also give to my son Johnson WATERFIELD all the land I own on the East & the main road as far East as the fence that has been made this year.
Item I give to my two sons namely Jehue WATERFIELD & Joseph WATERFIELD all the land that I own to the East of the land that I have given away to my son Johnson WATERFIELD, my Grave yard accepted, to them & heres forever and for my son Joseph WATERFIELD to have the halfe adjoining the water.
Item I leave all the balance of my Estate to my wife Lydia during her life time and after her death I leave it to be sold by my Executer and for my Executer to pay to my Grand son Joacham J. BEASLEY five dollars & the Balance to be equely divided between all my heres. I leave my son Johnson WATERFIELD Executer to this my last will and Testement revoking all former wills by me made. In witnes whareof I have hereto set my hand and caused my seal to be fixed this 19th June 1855.

The paper writing purporting to be the last will & testament of Michal WATERFIELD was exhibited in open Court and the execution of the Same proved by the oaths of John B. JONES & Edward GORDON the subscribing witnesses thereto in due form of Law ordered recorded.
