In the name of God Amen,

I Obediah WEST of the State of North Carolina, Currituck County, being very sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory Thanks be to Almighty God for it and knowing it is appointed for all men once to die do make this to be my Last Will and Testament,

First I recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God, that gave it and my body I leave it to be burried in a descent manner at the descretion of my executors and for my worldly estate as it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I give and dispose of in the following form and manner.

In the first place I desire that staves in the woods should be carted to market and applied to paying my debts and then I leave as much of my land on the eastward end to be sold together with my whip and cross cutt saws as will pay the balance of my just debts.

Also I leave the use of this balance of my land together with all the remainder of my estate to my Wife Elizabeth WEST during her widowhood or life.

Also after the marriage or death of my Wife I give to my four Sons Edward, Obediah, James and John WEST all the remainder of my lands to be equally divided between them and their heirs forever.

Also I give to my two Daughters Susanna and Fanney WEST all the remainder of my estate to be equally divided betwenst them to them and their heirs forever.

Also I constitute and ordain Edward WEST my whole and sole executor to this my Last Will and Testament In witness I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixth day of February one thousand eighteen hundred and seven.
