Henry White
Dec. 22, 1751 - Sept. 10, 1754

In the name of god amen:  I Henry WHITE of the County Corrotuck and province of north Carolina being of perfect memory thanks be to almighty god for the same and knowing the uncertainty of this Life doe Therefore make this my Last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say--principally I recommend my soul to almighty god that gave it Hoping to receive pardon for all my sins that I Have Comitted in this wicked world and my body to be buried In such Christian manner as my executors Hereafter named shall think fitt and Convenient my worldly goods I give In manner and form following --

[cut off]m I give the use of the third part of my plantation Houses to my wife dureing Her widowhood also I give the use of two negroes to my wife dureing Her widowhood named tony and nan dureing Her widowhood and no Longer.  I give to my wife my black Horse.

[cut off]m I give to my son Hilary WHITE two negros namely robin and dye to Him and His Heirs forever also I give Him one Half of my stock at the Island.

[cut off]m I give unto my son Henry WHITE my plantation and and [sic] track of Land wheron I now Live (excepting such parts as I shall Herafter give) to Him and the Heirs of His body Lawfully begotten for ever.  I also give to my son Henry one negro man named Jack to Him and His Heirs for ever.  I also give to my son Henry the other Half of my stock at the Island.

[cut off] I give unto my son Joseph WHITE my plantation and track of Land at nanis? Creek to Him and His Heirs for ever.

[cut off]m I give unto my son Caleb WHITE a plantation Caled [cut off]UNKLEYs bounded as followeth to witt begining thirty poles south from where the House now stands from thence east to the road then as the road Leads to the Horse bridge then round the Creek downward to the mouth then as the waters goes oposite to the first station to Him and the Heirs of His body Lawfully begotten forever.

Item; I give unto my son Joshua WHITE a peace of Land out of the track where I now Live all that part to the eastward of the Cattail pond to Him and the Heirs of His body Lawfully begotten forever.

Item - I give unto my son Church WHITE a part of my Land near the new ground Creek bounded as followeth to wit begining midway of the pasture fence thence runing west to the first road thence as the road Leads to the Line then easterly to the Head of the Creek then down the Creek to the end to pasture fence then up to the first station to Him and the Heirs of His body Lawfully begotten forever.

Item - I give unto my four sons Henry Caleb Joshua and Church all the Land and marches over the Indian Creek for a priveledge to them and their Heirs of their body Lawfully begotten forever but in Case either of my three sons Caleb Joshua or Church should decease without Lawfull Ishue then their parts to return to my son Henry as above given of all Lands above given them.

Item - I give my plantation at black water to my four sons namly gedion daniel Cornelius and solomon [these 4 sons were not listed in Jones' book] and their Heirs forever but if either of them should dye before they Come of age then their parts to return to the others.

Item - I give to my two sons Hilary and Henry all my trad? my stock money and depts due to be equally divided between them they paying all depts due out of their parts.

Item - I give to my daughter Mary one midling good bed and and [sic] bolster and Coverilets? and two Cows and Calves and she not to Come in divition [division?] for any part more.

Item - my will and desier is that the two negros given to my wife at Her mariage be equally divided between my son Caleb and Leady?/Zeady?.

Item - my will and desier is that all the remainer of my negroes not Heretofore made mention be equally divided among all my Children my sons Hilary and Henry and Mary excepted.

Item my will and desier is that all the remainer part of my estate in what kine soever be equally divided between my wife and all my Children my daughter Mary excepted my son Hilary and Henry not to Have any share in the Cattel.

Lastly I nominate Constitute and appoint my two sons Hilary WHITE and Henry WHITE my whole and sole executors of this my Last will and testament to see the same done and performed In testimony whereof I Have Hereunto set my Hand and seal this tweenty second day of december one thousand seven Hundred and fifty one.

At a General Court began held at the Court House in New Bern the Second Tuesday in March in the XXVII Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second Anno Dom 1754
Present James HASELL Esqr Chief Juctice
    The within Last will & Testament of Henry WHITE Decd was proved in Open Court by the Oath of Charles WILLIAMS one of the Subscribing Witnesses thereto who on his Oath Did Testifie & Declare that he Saw the Testator Sign Seal Publish and Declare the within writing to be his Last Will & Testament and that he was of Sound mine & Disposing Memory at the time of Executing the Same and that he Saw Joshua CAMPBELL & William DUDLEY the other two Subscribing Witnesses Sign in the Presence of the Testator & in his Presence and the Executors Hilary WHITE & Henry WHITE having been Quallified by taking the Oath of Excrs.  Ordered that the Secretary have Notice thereon that Letters Testamentay may Issue Accordingly.

    Joshua CAMPBELL & William DUDLEY the other two Subscribing Witnesses to the within will came into Court & proved the Same in like manner as Charles WILLIAMS did last March General Court.  Ordered that the Same be Certified.
