Henry White, Sr.

In the name of God Amen, the twenty seventh day of January one thousand seven hundred and ninety two, I Henery WHITE SEN. of the State of North Carolina and County of Currituck, being of sound mind and memory Thanks be to God for the same, and knowing the uncertainty of this life do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in form following, that is to say, I recommend my soul to Almighty God that give it hopeing to receive pardon for all my sins, and my body to be buried in such manner as my executors hereafter named shall think proper, and my worldly goods, I give in manner and form following Viz.

Item: I lend unto my beloved Wife Lettissha WHITE one third part of the plantation and tract of land I now live on during her life; also give unto my beloved Wife Lettissha one negro man named Joshua, also one negro woman named Esther, and one negro girl called Sarah to dispose of as she pleases; also I give unto my beloved Wife Lettissha what money I leave to educate my three children to wit. John WHITE, Nancy WHITE, and Caleb WHITE.

Item: I give unto my Son Henry WHITE the plantation he now lives on bounded as followeth begining at the southwest end of the Cat tail pond thence runing near west by a line of markd trees to a pine near a thorn bush, thence near noath to a ditch thence as the ditch runs to the west ward turn opposit a white oak thence to the first road by a line of markd tree thence to John ANSELL JUN. land as the road runs thence down sd ANSELLs land opposite the first station to him and his heirs forever.

Item: I also live unto my four Sons Henry WHITE Solomon WHITE, John WHITE, and Caleb WHITE my marshes near the Indian Creeks to be as a priviledge to the above sd children to them and their heirs forever.

Item: I also give unto my said Son Henry WHITE four negroes to wit. Cate, Cloe, Peter and Nans also one bed and furniture, two cows and calves all thes hath been delivered unto him; and be it known to all persons that my will is that the said Henry WHITE is to have no more of my estate real nor personal.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my Son Solomon WHITE one negro man named Gout, one bed and furniture, one desk, two horses, four cows, and calves which hath been delivered him to him and his heirs forever. The remainder of my plantation and land that hath not been given away I leave to be equelly divided between my three Sons to wit. Solomon WHITE, John WHITE, and Caleb WHITE to them and their heirs forever except either of the above sd three should die without lawful heirs of their body, then my pleasure is it should return to the other two to them and their heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary WILLIAMS one negro boy named America to her and her heirs forever, also I give unto my aforesaid Daughter Mary WILLIAMS one negro woman called Seviner, and their increase to her and heirs forever, except the next child Seviner hath my will is my Grandaughter Edna BEESLEY may receive.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my Grandson Joseph White WILLIAMS one negro boy named Jack to him and his heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary WILLIAMS one bed and furniture, one linen wheel, two cows and calves to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Lydia BEESLEY one negro woman named Bethere and three cows and calves which hath been already delivered her to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I give unto my Daughter Lettissha TOLAR one bed and furniture, one negro woman named Sue, one negro garl called Belila, two cows and calves which hath been delivered her to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeath to my Grandaughter Lettissha TOLAR one negro boy named Joshua to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeath all the remainder of my estate after paying my just debts to be appraised and equelly divided between my Daughters Julian WHITE, Mariam WHITE, Nancey WHITE, John WHITE, Caleb WHITE and Wife Lettissha WHITE except the negroes that that is to be appraised, my Wife Lettissha is to have no share of them.

Lastly I constitute my Son in Law John WILLIAMS and my beloved Wife Lettissha WHITE my whole and sole executor and executrix of this my Last Will and Testament, in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty seventh day of January in the year of our Lord Christ Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and ninety two.
