Currituck Co. Will Book 3; pg. 261-262I Polly WHITEHURST of the State of North Carolina and Currituck County, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following to viz.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my son Anthony SIMMONS one horse to him and his heirs forever also one third of my stock of cattle my work steer as one in particular forever.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah PELL the second third of my cattle.
Item. I also give to my Daughter Sarah PELL one linnen wheel to her forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my Granddaughter Polly S. ETHERIDGE the last third of my cattle forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Polly S. ETHERIDGE one feather bed and one linnen wheel.
Item. I give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Edney SIMMONS one feather bed that stands in my hall room forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my Son Anthony SIMMONS one pair of steel yards and one hackle forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Sarah PELL and Grand Daughter Polly S. ETHERIDGE my cart and riding chair to be equally divided between and their heirs forever.
Item. I give to my Son Anthony SIMMONS one table cloth to him and his heirs forever.
Item. I give to my Daughter Sarah PELL one table cloth to her and her heirs forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Polly S. ETHERIDGE one table cloth to her and her heirs forever.
Item. I leave all the residue of my property to be sold to pay my debts and expenses of my funeral and if there be any left after that, to be divided between my Son Anthony SIMMONS and Sarah PELL and Polly S. ETHERIDGE and their heirs forever.
Item. I leave my Son Anthony SIMMONS whom I nominate, and constitute and appoint sole executor of this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other former wills by me at any time heretofore made in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal herin dated the 14th day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty.

This Last Will and Testament of Polly WHITEHURST was exhibited and proved in open Court by the oath of Thomas S. HOLLAWAY subscribing witness thereto and ordered recorded. When Anthony SIMMONS the executor thereto came into open Court and qualified in due form of law and ordered that letters testamentary issue.
