The Last Will and Testament of Thomas WHITE dec’d exhibited and proved August Term 1823.
In the name of God Amen, I Thomas WHITE of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina being in perfect mind and memory calling to mind the mortality of the body that it is appointed for all men to die do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following:
Item: I lend the land and plantation whereon I now live to my beloved Wife Salley WHITE and also all my moveable property and negros during her natural life or widowhood and at her death or marrage I give the land to my Son Thomas WHITE and one feather bed to him and his heirs forever and if my Son Thomas WHITE dies without heir I give it to my Son Armistead WHITE to him and his heirs forever.
Also at my Wifes death or marrage I give all my movable property to be equally divided between my children by name Betsey WHITE, Polley WHITE, Sally WHITE and Armistead WHITE and also all my negros to be equally divided to them and their heirs forever.
Item: I lend my land on Piney Island and my land on the banks to my Wife Sally WHITE during her natural life or widowhood and at her death or marrage I give it to my Son Armistead WHITE to him and his heirs forever.
And I do appoint John JARVES and Dennis TATUM the whole and sole executors to this my Last Will and Testament June 16th day 1823.
