Dare Co., NC Cemeteries
Hill / Meekins
Cemetery (Colington)
(Photos taken by Amy Gamiel in July 2009)
This very small cemetery, shown here in it's entirety, is located in Colington, Dare County, North Carolina. From Hwy. 158 in Kill Devil Hills, at mile post 81/2, go west on Colington Rd. (SR 1217) about 2.6 miles. Take a lane or driveway on the left just before the bridge. The cemetery is on private property.. We suggest that you not drive your car to the end of the lane since it is someone's yard. The cemetery is on a hill on the left at the end of the lane in back of a mobile home. This trek is not for the faint of heart and you will need boots since the grass is high and briars and fallen tree limbs will be obstacles.
