Baron DeKalb & Minnie Daniels Family

Baron DeKalb Daniels, Sr. (1876-1912 see obit), son of Thomas William "Tom Bill" Daniels (1843-1924)  & Ann Deborah Ansell (1848-1893), was born in Wanchese, NC on Feb. 26, 1876 & died Oct. 5, 1912.  He married Minnie Lee Daniels (1876-1951 see obit) in Wanchese on August 26, 1896.  Baron & Minnie are both buried in the Daniels Cemetery in Wanchese.  They had the following children:

1) Spencer Daniels - born in Wanchese on Feb. 28, 1897 & died in Norfolk, VA on May 31, 1961 see obit).  He married 1^st Flora Belle Daniels (1900-1929) in Manteo on Aug. 30, 1919; married 2^nd Vivian Beatrice Cudworth (1913-1984) in Elizabeth City, Pasquotank Co., NC on July 3, 1934.  Spencer and both wives are buried in the Cudworth Cemetery in Wanchese.

2) Thomas C. Daniels - born in Wanchese on Jan. 1, 1899 & died there on Feb.9, 1899; Buried in the Daniels Cemetery

3) Charlie Daniels - born in Wanchese on Feb. 20, 1900 & died the same day; Buried in the Daniels Cemetery

4) Ann Deborah Daniels - born in Wanchese on Feb. 18, 1902 & died in Manteo on Feb. 19, 1992 see obit) .  She married Charles Bailey Daniels, Jr. (1888-1951) in Manteo on Oct. 18, 1921. Ann & Charles are buried in the Cudworth Cemetery

5) Amos Raynor "Tart" Daniels - born in Wanchese on Sept. 3, 1904 & died in Norfolk, VA on Oct. 23, 1991; married Virginia Elizabeth Boggs (1909-1982) in Brooklyn, NY on Nov. 21, 1931. Both are buried in the Cudworth Cemetery

6) Lovey Marie Daniels - born in Wanchese on Mar. 15, 1907 & died in Dare Co., NC on Nov. 28, 2007.  She married Charles Ketchum "Cliff" Tillett, Jr. (1902-1985) in Manteo on Aug. 25, 1923.  Both are buried in the Cudworth Cemetery

7) Mary Ellen Daniels - born in Wanchese on July 15, 1908 & died in Portsmouth, VA on Sept. 3, 2002.  She married Alton LaSalle "Peter" Tillett, Sr. (1899-1967) in Wanchese on Apr. 17, 1926.  Both are buried in the Cudworth Cemetery

8) Baron DeKalb "Kalb" Daniels, Jr. - born in Wanchese on Nov. 30, 1911 & drowned in Pamlico Sound at Wanchese on Sept. 1, 1974.  He married Maxine Daniels (1915-2007) in Wanchese on Jan. 23, 1935.  Both are buried in the Cudworth Cemetery
