Herman Thomas & Bertha (Tillett) Gibbs Family Album

Herman Thomas Gibbs, Sr. was born in Engelhard, Hyde Co., NC on July 8, 1891 to John Oliver Gibbs and Louisa Jane (Gibbs) Gibbs.  He died March 3, 1973 and is buried in Mt. Carmel Methodist Church Cemetery in Manns Harbor, NC.  Herman married Bertha Inez Tillett (1893-1994), daughter of Capt. Samuel Mann Tillett and Varina (Hayman) Tillett, in Manns Harbor on May 16, 1910.  To this union were born nine children:
