Mrs. Lela McDade Hill, age 59, of 408 Forest St, widow of Charles E Hill, died last night at a local hospital after an illness of three months. She was born May 25, 1894, in Orange County, the daughter of J F McDade and Minnie Lee McDade, but had made her home for the last 20 years in Durham. She was a member of Duke’s Chapel Methodist Church. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Robert Beck, Miss Christine Hill and Miss Shirley Jeanne Hill, all of Durham, and Mrs. Lee J McManness of Kansas City, Ka; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Younger of Durham, Mrs. Lone Mincey and Mrs. Ewell Liner of Hillsboro, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2o’clock at the Cedar Grove Methodist Church in Orange County. The body will be removed from a local funeral home at 11:30 to lie in state in the church until the hour of the service.
Interment will be in the church cemetery. The Rev Z T Newton, pastor of the church and the Rev J C Chaffin, pastor of Duke Chapel Methodist Church will conduct the services.
Nephews of the deceased will serve as pallbearers and nieces will be floral bearers.
