Hillsboro Oct 12, 1950 – Carl Compton McDade, 77, life-long resident of the Cedar Grove Community of Orange County, died at his home at 3PM today after an extended illness. He was the husband of the late Lessie Hall McDade and son of the late Henry Lee and Mollie McDade, all of Orange County. He was a life-long farmer.
Surviving are five sons, Donald McDade of the home, Jack McDade, Sr of Chapel Hill, Curtis McDade of Baltimore, Md, Mott McDade with the U S Army stationed in London, England; and Larry McDade of Raleigh; three daughters, Mrs. S A Underhill and Mrs. John Pope, both of Durham, and Mrs. Harold Keating of Raleigh, a brother John C McDade of Cedar Grove, three sisters, Misses Minnie and Myrtle McDade, and Mrs. Dolly Pass and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10AM from the Cedar Grove Methodist Church, of which he was a member and former steward, with the Rev Henry Lewis officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be R E Hughes, Cooper Compton, Percy Allison, Charles E Murphy, Howard McAdams and Lee Kennedy.
