The building of the railroad station was the beginning of the town of Durham. Located in beautiful Piedmont North Carolina, it is bounded by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncgenweb.us\/chatham\/\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chatham<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncgenweb.us\/ncgranville\/\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Granville<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/ncgenweb.us\/orange\/\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Orange<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncgenweb.us\/person\/\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Person<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncgenweb.us\/wake\">Wake<\/a> counties.
