Durham, Oct. 23 — A negro woman by the name of Della JENKINS, aged
\nabout fifty years, met a horrible death in the western part of the
\ncity yesterday afternoon. She was burned in a fearful manner at 1
\no’clock in the afternoon and death resulted at 5:15 o’clock last
\nnight. Her burns were such that a great deal of the skin on her body
\nslipped off before death. The woman was using gasoline in a stove,
\nwhen there was a loud explosion and she was covered in flames. She ran
\nto a bed, jumped upon it, and covered up. The bed clothes caught fire,
