ordered that Charles A. Hill, Jno[?] Perry and David M. Lewis Esqrs. be
appointed a committee to examine the acct. of the county trustee, staff
& clerk so far as regards the county tax and report to this court
tomorrow at 12 oclock

A majority of the Justices of the peace being present the following
persons were appointed constable for the year 1829. to wit.
John W. Smith is appointed constable in Kayesville[?] District- who
offers as his Securities Joseph Leazion[?] & Jos. M. Smith who are
approved of by the Court.

Henry M. Hicks is appointed Constable in Captn Foster's District who
offers as his Securities- William A Gill, Will M Shears[?], Richard
Wynne, Captn Athenatus Thomas who are approved of by the Court

James Murphrey[or Murphery] is appointed Constable in Capt. Jordan
Cooks district who offers as his securities James Collins, Benjamin
Westray & Ephraim Gilliam who are approved of by the Court- &took the
oaths of public office.

John A Stone[?] is appointed Constable in Capt. Taylors District who
offers as his Securities William Stone, Green RoSs, Ruben Stallings
Jas W Boon who are approved of & qualified

Richard Fox is appointed Constable in Jennys[?] District who offers as
his Securities Samuel Joiner[?], Stephen Sparks & Athenalus Thomas who
are approved of by the Court & qualified according to Law

The last will and Testament of John Johnson [?] was exhibited in open
Court for [?] motion the mention[?] thereof was duly [?] [?] by the
oaths of Benjamin [?] & Bricklell B. Bowden the subscribing witneSs
[?] and was thereupon ordered to be Recorded- whereupon Allen Bowden
Executor therein named came into open Court & qualified as Executor
thereto

Simon[?] Williams admr. on the estate of [?] F. Williams decd. returned
an account of [?] sundry of the Estate of his [?] on oath in open
Court & was on MOR

Ordered that Wesley Young a boy of colour about the age of nine years
be bound to Robert Milton who enters into bond according to Law with
William P. Williams- his Securities who are approved of by the Court

ISsd. Ordered that Elijah Gupton[?] be appointed overseer of the Road
from Peter Fishes[?] mill to J[?] J. Williams in room of Isaac Gupton
with the usual hands-

State vs William T. Ransom} Bastardy- defendant charged with being the
father of 3 children[?] begotten[?] in the body of Nancy Smith[?]
It appearing in the face of the court that warrant & affidavit that
three[?] of the bastard children therein named were of the age of three
years at the time of iSsue the dft as to them is discharged[?] and the
proceedings footm[?] to dismiSsed. as to the naming[?] child Robert it
is orderd by the court that the defendant pay into Court the sum of $15
for the first year and $10 for the six sucend[?] year commencing in
Feby 1828 &costs. and that he enter into Bond in the sum of $200. with
security to keep the child off the Brush[?] the defendant offer as his
security Wm Ramson & John[?] Ferrill who are approved of by the court

The execution of a Deed from Henry G. Williams Shff to John Nicholson

ordered that Blake Baker be appointed overseer of the roads leading
from Hartfield[?] old mill to the County ine[line?] with the usual
hands in room of Benjamin Baker

ordered that the county trustee pay to James Murphery Const of the
Grand Jury five dollars for his attendance at the Court Sup. /o. and
two dollars for his attendance at this Term &that &c

State v Seymore Ransom} Bastardy- In this case the defendant came into
open Court and entered into Bond in the sum of $200 with William Ransom
Senr. his security conditioned to keep the child from becoming
chargeable to the county and firther[?] conditioned that the said
Seymore shall from time to time perform such order as shall be made by
the Court in the promise[?] Bond filed-
on motion it is ordered by the Court that the defendant- Seymore Ransom
pay into Court- instant[?] the sum of $15 pr lying[?] on expences & the
first years support of the child & that he pay the sums of $10 per
annum for six years hereafter & that defdt pay the costs
