} No. 49 to } State of North Carolina Hartsfield} To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting. Know ye that we for & in consideration of the sum of thirty shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted paid into our treasury Jacob Hartsfield have given & granted & by these presents do give & grant unto the said Jacob Hartsfield a track of land containing twenty acres lying & being in the County of Franklin adjoining his own line & others beginning at a post oak then running east twenty pole to corner hickory & pine thence North one hundred & forty six poles to a corner pine then west twenty one poles to a corner white oak & hickory then to the first station as by the plat hereunto annexed appear, together with all woods waters mines mineral heredetaments & appertenances to the said Land belonging or appertaining to hold to the said Jacob Hartsfield his heirs and assigns forever yielding & paying to us such sums of money yearly or otherwise as our general assembly from time to time may direct privided always that the said Jacob Hartsfield shall cause this grant to be registered in registers office of our said county Franklin within the time limited by law otherwise same shall be ordered? no effect. In testimony whereof we have caused these our letters to be made patent & our great seal to be hereunto affixed. Witness Richard Dobbs Spaight Esquire our governor, Captain General & Commander in Chief at Newbern the seventh day July in the 19th year of our Independance & in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & ninety four.
