ANDREWS - I am trying to obtain information in regards to GRAY ANDREWS (1740-1811). His wife was named MILLIE. I would like to continue his lineage back. I have preliminary indications that his father was WILLIAM ANDREWS (died 31Dec1817), in Franklin County, NC, and mother LYDIA WILLIAMS ANDREWS. I would like more proof that WILLIAM and LYDIA were GRAY's parents. My preliminary research indicate that WILLIAM ANDREWS heirs tried to reclaim property from his estate upon his death, that was owned by MILLIE. The attorneys name who pursued this was Lancaster. If I am correct in my conclusion that WILLIAM was GRAYS father, GRAY probably left property to his wife MILLIE that he inheriented from WILLIAM. My records indicate that GRAY and his wife MILLIE had moved to Jasper County, GA, in early 1800's from Franklin, County, NC. I am GRAY and MILLIE's direct decendants and would very much like to continue the lineage beyond them. I have good records from GRAY forward to the present. His decendants settled mostly in Georgia. I would be happy to share what I have. Thank you.............BOB ALLEN

We believe that Rodwell's father may have been Henry SMITH. Some of his sibling's names were probably Peter and Stephen. This family eventually moved to SC, GA and MS. In MS Rodwell married Lavinia O'NEAL on 29 Aug 1829. They eventually moved to Yalobusha Co. MS where they lived next door to Henry Smith (b. NC) and his wife Linney and their daughter, Lydia, who was noted as an "Idiot" on the 1850 census. RODWELL was b. ca 1804/5. For name reference: Rodwell's children included: Luvica, Joshua J., Stephen , Jacob O., Peter M., James W., William C., Nancy, Mary, Catharine, Hiram, Robert Allison, Caroline and Mary. Several of the later descendants have "Coleman" as a middle name and also "Allison". I feel that these must also be family surnames.

EDWARDS - Cornelius Bryant EDWARDS was born in Franklin County on July 16,1844. His father was a superintendent of a large plantation near Louisburg. Need to now if his father was Edward EDWARDS, census records inconclusive. Family moved to Wake County around 1856-8. Cornelius Bryant EDWARDS later went on to found the Raleigh Printing company of Edwards & Broughton. The information I have is that he had at least two younger brothers and a sister at this time, and that two of the slaves on the plantation where his father worked in near Louisburg were Isham and Sophia. Any information on Edward EDWARDS that might prove a connection would be helpful. Thanks.
