In the name of God, Amen, I John Green of Franklin County in the State of North Carolina being in health and of disposing mind, and memory, and calling to mind the mortality of my body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do ordain and establish this my last will and testament in writing. That is to say, first of all I recommend my soul to almighty God that gave it me, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God, and my body I recommend to be buried in a decent Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors herein after named and as to having such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased almighty God to bless me in this life I give and dispose of the same in manner and form following. I give and bequeath to each of my daughters Elizabeth Dent, Hannah Jean, Mary Freeman, Amey Bridges, Nancy Freeman, Susannah Bridges 5 shillings current money to be by them freely enjoyed. Item: I give and bequeath to my son Atha Green 5 shillings current money, to be by him freely enjoyed. Item: I lend to my beloved wife Agness the land & plantation whereon I now live:, as also my Negro man Gilbert, together with all my household furniture and stock of every kind and description during her natural life, on the condition that she does not rent out any part of my land nor hire out the said Negro Gilbert. Item: I give and bequeath to my son Obadiah Green his heirs and assigns forever, at the death of my wife Agnes all my land containing 210 acres, my Negro Gilbert, and all the residue of my estate, household furniture and livestock of every description here before lent to my wife Agnes to be by him freely _______ and enjoyed. Signed Sealed and pronounced to be the last will of testament of John Green this 10 day of August 1803 in presence of J. Hunt, D. W. Davis, William Rives. Note added: I do hereby nominate constitute & appoint my wife Agnes executrix and my son Obediah Executor to this my last will and testament, hereby disannulling all former wills by me made & declaring this my last will and testament in writing. In testimony whereof. I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 10 day of August 1803.

Will of Nathan P. Green - 1862 State of North Carolina, Franklin County September the 22, 1862. This day I Nathan P. Green being of sound mind and memory do publish and make this my last will an testimony to wit first I commit my sole to God that gave it and my body to be decently bared next I lend everything that I posses to my loving wife Mina Allis Green until my youngest child comes of age to raise them and to school them and when the youngest child comes of age the Negroes is to be equally divide between my wife and al of my children or the lawful heirs of their bodies and all of my perishable property to be sold with the exception of one years support at that time for my wife and the family that will remain with her at that time over and above one child part of my Negroes and the perishable I lend all of my land to my wife during her natural life time or widowhood to do what she pleases with and after her death to bee sold and equally divided between all of my children an the lawful heirs of their bodies. Last by I do appoint my worthy friend George Winston as my executor to this my last will and testament to settle my business
