The Last Will & Testament of Anthony Winston, dec'd. June Court 1787
In the Name of God amen-
I ANTHONY WINSTON of Franklin County and State of North Carolina being Sick & Weak but of Perfect mind & Memory thanks to Almighty God for the -
do make ordain & Constitute this my last Will & Testament in manner and form following, First I lend to my loving wife MARY WINSTON the Land &
Plantation whereon I now live containing four Hundred acres by Estimation with a Negro Woman - Named
ATH during her Natural life and no longer-
Secondly, I leave my Land on Roanoak River to be Sold by my Executors and the money arising from the Sale to be divided into five Equal
divisions my Son JOHN WINSTON to have one & a half Shares, the residue to my Son ISAAC WINSTON, MOSES WINSTON & my Daughter SARAH HIGH-
Thirdly, I give to my Son MOSES WINSTON all that Tract of Land whereon I now live after the Death of my Wife with my Negro Boys
ALLEN & ARCHER,
my Wagon gear & four horses with Two feather Beds & furniture-
Fourthly, I give to Daughter SARAH HIGH one Negroe Boy Named JERSEY <?> & negro Woman
ATH with all her increase after the Death of my loving
wife MARY WINSTON-
Fifthly. I give all the Residue of my Estate both real & Personal to my Loving Wife MARY WINSTON, she to pay all my outstanding debts & receive
all monies due to me for that purpose-
Sixthly & Lastly. I appoint my Loving MARY WINSTON my Sons JOHN WINSTON, ISAAC WINSTON, & Son in Law ROBERT HIGH my Whole & Sole Executors of
this my last Will & Testament, Signed Sealed & Delvred this fourteenth day of November 1786, in Presence of us
