    WILLIAMS, H. Clay – (d. 1900)

    Suffolk, Va., March 10 – Hon. H. Clay WILLIAMS died this morning at 7 o’clock in Gates county, N.C., aged 62 years.  He lived at Willeyton, twenty-one miles from Suffolk. The funeral will take place at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon from Kittrell’s M.E. Church.   The deceased had twice represented his county in the General Assembly of North Carolina, and was formerly State Senator and County Commissioner.  He was among the most prominent men in his section.  He leaves a widow, five daughters, and two sons, among whom are Mrs. Elisha CROSS and Hardy WILLIAMS, of Norfolk, and B.G.     WHEDBEE, Joshua – (d. 1900)

    Joshua WHEDBEE, a well-known citizen of Gates County, N.C., died suddenly today in Perquimans county, near the town of Hertford.  He was attacked with paralysis or heart trouble and expired suddenly, aged 80 years.  Mr. WHEDBEE was visiting the family of his daughter, Mrs. John David PARKER.  The burial will take place tomorrow near Gatesville, NC.   The deceased leaves two daughters and three sons – Mrs. J.D. PARKER, Perquimans county, N.C.; Mrs. James PARKER, Gates County, N.C.; L.H. and R.H. WHEDBEE, Suffolk; Joshua WHEDBEE, Gates county.  He was an uncle of Mrs. Junius T. PARKER andb of Suffolk.
