John M. Trotman<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Suffolk, Va., March 9 &#8211; <strong>Hon. John M. TROTMAN<\/strong>, a member of the North Carolina Legislature from Gates county, is dead. \u00a0The end came last night in Raleigh. \u00a0The remains passed through Suffolk this afternoon, and were taken to Gates county on a special train over the Suffolk and Carolina. \u00a0The regular passenger train had gone, and the special was made up to leave at 5:45. The body was accompanied by a single daughter of the deceased, who had gone to Raleigh during her father\u2019s illness, and by <strong>Hon. W.D. WELCH<\/strong>, the member from Chowan county.\u00a0 The funeral will take place in Gates county tomorrow.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Hon. John M. TROUTMAN<\/strong> was an ardent free silver Democrat.\u00a0 He was first elected last fall as a member of the General Assembly.\u00a0 He was prior to that the agent for the Suffolk and Carolina railroad at Trotville, and also a merchant at the same plant.\u00a0 He leaves a wife, an unmarried daughter and son, <strong>William TROTMAN<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Mr. William E.
